350 Person Capacity Steel Mosque Completed in 50 Days.

We completed the construction of the Orhanlı Sanayi Mosque, where the advantages of the hybrid steel construction system are used in the best way from production to installation, in a record time of 50 days.

The steel mosque with a 312 m2 closed area can accommodate 425 people at the same time. With the hybrid steel system, in which structural steel and light steel system are used together, we have accelerated the construction period as well as building safety. With the steel structure system, 70 percent faster installation can be achieved compared to classical construction methods.

207 m2 Span without using any columns

One of the prominent features of the Orhanlı Sanayi Mosque project is the 207 m2 open space inside the mosque. The advantages of the steel carrier system were used in the preparation of this area. This area was prepared by supporting it with special steel carrier systems. The open area inside the mosque has width and length dimensions of 14,45x14,42 metres. The mosque also has an internal elevation height of 5.10 metres supported by structural steel carriers.

Modern Reflections of Seljuk Architecture in Steel Mosque

Orhanlı Sanayi Mosque was designed inspired by the classical Seljuk mosque architecture. The project design of the mosque was made by Hira Architecture. Karmod technical team made special work on the project during the adaptation of the design to production. General characteristics of Seljuk architecture were reflected in the design. Instead of classical roof tiles, red coloured metal tiles resembling it were used on the roof cover. Metal tiles were produced in Karmod factory line.

Seljuk and Ottoman Traces in Mosque Interior Decoration

The interior calligraphy and wood decorations of the mosque were inspired by Seljuk and Ottoman architectures. Mimber, mihrab, pulpit and muezzin were decorated with wooden applications and workmanship. In the construction of the muezzin, limba wood was used and workmanship specific to Seljuk architecture was applied. With window placements, daylight was provided to enter the interior space at maximum rate. Sound acoustic features were also taken into consideration in the design. The mosque has the best sound distribution even without using a microphone.

Fountain and Cafeteria Building of the Mosque was constructed with Prefabricated Building System

Orhanlı Sanayi Mosque project includes two more independent buildings. These are the fountain and tea centre buildings. These two buildings were built with prefabricated building system. The ablution centre building, which contains a fountain and WCs, is 92 m2 in size. The cafeteria building has a size of 76 m2. Orhanlı Sanayi Mosque was opened for worship on 7 April 2023 with the Friday prayer led by Tuzla Mufti Mustafa Aydın.
