We Have Taken Our Place in the Railway Project Connecting Turkey to Azerbaijan

At Karmod, we continue to be the preferred choice for major projects. We have set up a container construction site for the Turkish section of the strategic railway line that will connect our country to Azerbaijan via Nakhchivan.

Personnel working on the Kars-Iğdır-Aralık-Dilucu High-Standard Railway Project, which extends from the Digor district of Kars to the Dilucu Border Gate in the Aralık district of Iğdır, will be accommodated in Karmod container construction sites.

The innovations we’ve introduced to container production help ensure projects start on time. With our production and on-site installation speed, we save the project investor both time and money. We completed the installation of the structures—totaling 3,654 m²—in 25 days and made them available for use.

What Did We Do for the Kars-Iğdır Railway Project?

As part of the project, we completed the production and installation of container structures with a total area of 3,654 m². The main structure group was installed at the central construction site located in the Digor district of Kars province. Here, we installed two three-story container dormitory buildings, each measuring 1,440 m². Additionally, we completed the installation of 37 more units along the project site extending to the Dilucu Border Gate. A portion of these units will serve as the project site office. The other container structures will be used for purposes such as dormitory and dining hall buildings, as well as restroom and shower units.

About the Kars-Iğdır-Aralık-Dilucu High-Standard Railway Project

As part of efforts to strengthen access to and integration with Turkey’s national railway network, the Kars-Iğdır-Aralık-Dilucu High-Standard Railway Project will also make significant contributions to the economy of the region where it is being implemented. Job creation and the enhancement of local well-being are among these significant contributions.

The line extending from Kars to Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan region via the Dilucu Border Gate will strengthen regional logistics infrastructure by increasing freight transport capacity along the Middle Corridor.

The project is of utmost importance for the development of international trade ties. The railway line project will establish a strong transportation link between Turkey and Azerbaijan. This strategic commercial transportation link will also support trade routes to Asia.
