ÖSYM Gebze Examination Coordination Office at GTU Campus

We have built an exam coordinator building for the Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) within the Gebze Technical University (GTÜ) Campus. The building, which was completed in a short period of 10 days with the prefabricated construction system, will be used as the Gebze Examination Coordinator Office of ÖSYM.

The Gebze Examination Coordination Office building, located at the main entrance of GTU Campus, started to serve as of January 2023.

Designed as a single-storey building, ÖSYM Gebze Examination Coordination Office building has a total size of 133 m2. In the middle part of the U-shaped building, services related to ÖSYM exam coordination are provided.

There are two separate executive rooms on the right side of the building. The front room is extended towards the front in the plan. There is a kitchen area in the front left part of the building, a disabled WC unit in the centre right area and male and female WC units in the back.

Civil Society and Business Cooperation in Prefabricated ÖSYM Examination Coordination Office Building

The construction of the prefabricated building of the Gebze Examination Coordination Office was carried out with the exemplary cooperation of institutions and organisations. The cost of the building was undertaken by non-governmental organisations and business people, and the burden on the state was taken off with the cooperation. Nearly 20 business people supported the construction costs of the coordinatorship building.

Gebze Examination Coordination Office building was completed with the organisation of Gebze MÜSİAD. The support of Gebze and Darıca Municipalities was received in the infrastructure. ÖSYM Gebze Examination Coordination Office will serve Gebze and nearby districts such as Darıca, Çayırova, Dilovası, Tuzla, Kartal and Pendik.

MUSIAD President Mahmut Asmalı and Karmod Chairman Mehmet Çankaya attended the opening of ÖSYM Examination Coordination Office, which was put into service with a ceremony held in January 2022.

Working Principles of ÖSYM Examination Coordination Offices

The Regulation on the Working Procedures and Principles of the Examination Coordinatorships and Application Centres of the Presidency of the Measurement, Selection and Placement Centre entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette.

The Regulation regulates the establishment of exam coordinatorships and application centres to work in the exams conducted by ÖSYM Presidency, the assignment of personnel, the duties of these units and the personnel to be assigned, the qualifications to be sought in the personnel, the establishment of the technical infrastructure of these units, the payment of current and other expenses, the application, preference and preference given by the exam coordinatorships and application centres, According to the regulation determining the procedures and principles regarding the service fees received in return for services such as providing passwords and the expenditures to be made from such amounts, in the exams conducted by the Presidency, exam coordinatorships will be established and closed by the decision of the board of directors within the state universities, public or private institutions and organisations, if needed, to fulfil the exam organisation and the services entrusted by ÖSYM.

Exam coordinators may be appointed as coordinators by the Presidency from among the academic staff, employees of public or private institutions and organisations, and those who benefit from pension provisions in accordance with the social security legislation of the relevant country in the centres where there is a higher education institution.

Exam coordinatorships will also act as application centres and will carry out the services provided by the Presidency.

In the provinces where the Presidency has previously established exam coordinatorships, more than one exam coordinatorship can be established based on the service boundaries or the number of candidates.

In the regions or metropolitan cities covering more than one province where the number of candidates is high and more than one exam coordinatorship is established, regional/provincial Examination Coordinatorships can be established by the Presidency in order to ensure direct communication with ÖSYM, local administrations, local administrations, law enforcement units and other institutions and organisations, to coordinate the exam throughout the province/region and to carry out correspondence. The Presidency will distribute the tasks between the units regarding the assignment of officials and other procedures.

Private or public institutions and organisations wishing to act as application centres will apply to the Presidency directly or through the foreign, provincial/regional or district examination coordinatorships or through the representative offices directly affiliated to the Presidency. The Presidency may also assign units with the necessary qualifications as application centres ex officio without any request.
