2,000-Person Prefabricated Construction Site Mobilization Camp in Liberia

We continue to build safe construction site mobilization camps that bring vitality to mining sites around the world. We have completed a prefabricated construction site dormitory building project in Liberia, a West African country, with a capacity to accommodate 2,000 people.

Karmod, the Choice for Challenging Mining Sites

The experiences gained in our structures, which provide vitality, have made Karmod the preferred brand for construction sites. We bring comfort to challenging mining sites with our highly ergonomic structures.

Regardless of heat, cold, snow, rain, dust, or mud, mining sites are transformed into comfortable spaces with Karmod. Just like at the Kokoyah gold mine in Liberia. The structures we design and manufacture with our project-specific sandwich panel prefabricated system provide workers with comfortable rest areas.

Karmod prefabricated buildings also offer noticeable differences in terms of insulation values. The building model is preferred by occupants due to its climate control performance in different climate zones. At the same time, our structures are known to be investor-friendly due to the savings they provide in climate control energy consumption.

With its new generation production system, Karmod prefabricated structures provide extra confidence with their structural suitability. With their demountable feature, they can be installed anywhere in the world without the need for different materials.

Dormitories Specially Designed for White Collar Workers and Foremen

We produced 32 separate dormitory buildings, each measuring 484 m2, for the mining site in the city of Gbarnga. The project has a total enclosed area of 15,488 m2 and is enormous in size. Each block of the project, which consists entirely of dormitory buildings, has 20 separate bedrooms. Each room is designed for three people. The rooms also have toilets and shower cubicles. All buildings will be used by experienced blue-collar personnel and foremen teams specializing in mining sites. The blocks, with an average capacity of 60 people, can accommodate a total of 2,000 workers at the same time.

The structures, which were completed in 40 days at Karmod's modern facilities in the Tuzla Orhanlı industrial zone, were shipped using sea and road transport networks. The structures, loaded onto a ship in Istanbul, were sent to the port in Monrovia, the capital of Liberia. The buildings were transported by road from the port to the installation site at the Kokoyah mining site.

Kokoyah Gold Mine Site

Work at the Kokoyap Gold Mine Site in Gbarnga, Liberia, first began in 2016 with open pit mining. Underground mining began at the site in 2020. Due to technical reasons, operations at the site were suspended until 2022, and a decision has been made to resume underground mining operations.
