Historical Taksim First Aid Hospital Renovation Project

We took our place in the renovation of the historical Taksim First Aid Hospital

We took our place in the renovation process of Taksim First Aid Hospital which has been serving since 1950 under the Ministry of Health. The three-storey building used as construction site management office building in the renovation process of the hospital was constructed with Karmod new generation container model. The field installation of the 480 m2 container office building designed on 3 floors was completed in 16 days.

Container office building was installed in an area dominating the Taksim Hospital building site. A total of 12 separate units were used for the office building where 3x12 mt. container units were used. The units were arranged side by side in vertical combination. By giving a balcony projection in the front part, the progress of the project was more easily monitored from the upper floors. A large hall, meeting room, kitchen and WC units were located on the lower floor. On the second floor, technical manager rooms, construction site supervisor's room, occupational safety room and building supervision office were located. The third floor is completely reserved for the construction site manager. A meeting room was also placed on this floor. The office building was used by the management team of Gürtaş Yapı, which undertook the construction of the new hospital building from the Ministry of Health.

From First Aid Hospital to Taksim Training and Research Hospital

The historical hospital on Sıraselviler Street in Beyoğlu was famous as Taksim First Aid Hospital. Since the existing building was old and had earthquake risk, the Ministry of Health decided to demolish and rebuild it. The construction of the new building started after the tender made in this direction. When the project was completed, a modern hospital with a closed construction area of 48,000 m2 and a capacity of 250 beds emerged. The new building, which was realised in the historical place, started to serve under the name of Taksim Training and Research Hospital in 2018.

The new hospital building was put into service as a full-fledged hospital with all kinds of facilities. In the new building of Taksim Training and Research Hospital, all the possibilities of technology were utilised. All devices, hospital equipment and beds were completely renewed by the Ministry of Health. The new hospital continues to serve the people of Istanbul at the same address on Sıraselviler Street in Katip Mustafa Çelebi Neighbourhood, Taksim.

While the Taksim Training and Research Hospital Project was under construction, Taksim First Aid Hospital, formerly known by its old name, was temporarily moved to Gaziosmanpaşa District. During this period, the name of the hospital was referred to as GOP Taksim First Aid due to the change of location among the people. With the completion of the construction of the new building, Taksim Training and Research Hospital started to serve in Taksim with its modern face.

Taksim First Aid Hospital History

Taksim First Aid Hospital first came into service when the old building was purchased by the Ministry of Health in 1950. The purchase value of the building was 300.000 TL at that time. After the Ministry of Health purchased the building, polyclinics and necessary surgical beds were established to provide surgical first aid services and it was put into service of the people of Istanbul.
