Two separate projects with the same construction site structures

The construction site settlement we established with the container and prefabricated building system served personnel working on two separate projects at the same time. The first of these projects is the Northern Marmara Motorway project, which connects Europe to all of Turkey via Istanbul and then to Asian countries. The other is the Sabiha Gökçen Airport additional runway construction project, which has the busiest traffic in Turkey in Istanbul.

The construction site required for these two important projects was built in the area next to the Akfırat F1 Track in Pendik district in 5 blocks using a combination of container and prefabricated building systems. The teams that carried out the road infrastructure construction of the section of the Northern Marmara Motorway extending from Istanbul's Anatolian side to Sakarya were accommodated in this settlement. Another contractor team using the same construction site was also involved in the Sabiha Gökçen Airport runway construction.

In the office and dining hall, containers were preferred while prefabricated dormitories were used

The construction site project, which has a total area of 1346 square meters, used a combination of prefab and container building models produced by Karmod. The two-story construction site office and dining hall buildings were constructed using prefab building models, while the social facility buildings, including the local building, were constructed using the same model. For the dormitory buildings, Karmod's new generation container model was preferred for its comfort and ergonomics, with a capacity of 196 people.

Karmod's new generation of container models were used for the personnel dormitory buildings, which are among the basic structures of the Kuzey Marmara Highway and Sabiha Gökçen additional runway project construction site. The administrative dormitory building used by the technical team of engineers has a closed area of 117 m2. The blue-collar container dormitory building is 672 m2. A total of 28 units were used in the construction of the large general-use container dormitory building. The 3x7 m2 units were arranged on both sides with a central entrance corridor. A total of 24 dormitory rooms were prepared, 12 on each side. The interior of the dormitory rooms were designed according to international occupational health and safety conditions with air conditioning and ventilation.

The dormitory building with entrances on both sides has a total of two units of WC and shower structures on each side, one on each end. Each of these structures has 7 units, totaling 14 toilets and 14 shower cabins. The cabins open into a hall with 4 sinks.

An exclusive administrative dormitory building was also built for the engineering and technical team working on the projects at the construction site. The administrative dormitory building, with a total size of 117 m2, consists of 5 units. Each of the 4 separate private rooms can accommodate 4 people, with a total capacity of 16 people. One container unit of the administrative dormitory building is reserved for the toilet and shower facilities. This unit has four shower cabins and three WC cabins.

Two-storey prefabricated construction site Office

The site office building constructed with a prefabricated building system is two-story and has a size of 272 m2. The building, which rises on a 136 m2 base, has 3 workrooms, a prayer room, a kitchenette, and male/female toilets on the ground floor. On the second floor, there are 37 and 32 m2 workrooms and a 40 m2 meeting room. In addition, there is 1 toilet unit in the other areas on the floor.

The capacity of the prefabricated dining hall building can be increased with a rotating system

One of the buildings produced and installed by Karmod in the construction site is the 171 m2 prefabricated dining hall building. The dining hall building is divided into three parts: the dining area, cooking area, and pantry storage area. In the front section, 60 people can eat at the same time. Prefabricated dining halls, which have a very practical building model in terms of cleaning, can easily increase capacity with time interval planning.

As the fifth structure of the project, the local building is included in the category of social facility buildings. The salon of the 114 m2 prefabricated local building can accommodate 36 people at the same time. The prefabricated local building also has a mosque and ablution area.
