In order to relieve the ongoing production in the main building of the factory, a special steel hangar was built for the factory panel line. The steel hangar, which was designed and built with a steel structure system in the garden in front of the factory, was pre-produced with a heavy steel system and installed on site.
Since the panel line was made outdoors in the factory where production continued, the adverse effects of climatic conditions were reflected on production. The problem was solved in a short time with a modern building by building a steel hangar in the garden in front of the factory. The site installation of the 250 m² steel hangar needed for the panel dimensioning and production line was completed in a short time like 18 days. Pre-production of the steel structure also took 17 days.
The steel hangar building was designed by Karmod technical office as 10x25 metres. While the ridge height of the hangar is 7 metres, the column height on the wall part was designed as 5,5 metres. Sandwich panels were used in the wall and roof covering of the factory steel hangar. The wall sandwich panel is made of polyurethane filled material and 40 mm thickness was preferred. While the same panel system was used in the roof system, the thickness was applied as 70 mm. 14 steel columns were used throughout the building.
With the advantage of 10 m span in the hangar, the overhead crane can be easily moved along a length of 25 m. The hangar has three separate entrance doors, one on the narrow facade and two on the long facade. A motorised awning system was preferred for the doors, facilitating winter air conditioning.
In addition to the main building of the factory, steel hangar systems facilitate the work of the investor in order to increase production areas. Although the hangar building is perceived as the place where the production and maintenance of large mass vehicles such as aircraft are carried out, these structures are also preferred in industrial facilities. These large-span structures, in which ceiling cranes can move easily with the rail system, both facilitate and accelerate production.
Compared to other building models, it can be produced and installed in incredibly short time periods. Additional production areas can be built and commissioned in a short time in factories that continue production using the steel hangar system. By using it in new factory buildings to be opened, the enterprise can be put into production in a very short time.
The installation of steel hangars in factory production facility gardens is very practical. In general, steel hangar installation can be done very quickly in factory gardens with previously prepared ground concrete. Firstly, the installation starts by anchoring and screwing the columns to the ground. After the connection of all columns is completed, roof steel connections are made. Afterwards, wall and roof panel systems are covered. At this stage, applications are also carried out according to the electrical installation project. The hangar building, whose door system is also completed, is made ready for the use of the production facility.
