We continue to carry out construction projects in different parts of the world with our new generation container structures. We have added another project to our worker camp structures, including office, dormitory, and dining hall buildings, with the container blocks we completed on Zanzibar Island in Tanzania.
The container worker camp construction site structures we built in Zanzibar City will be used in the construction of the 31,000-person Zanzibar Arena Stadium and the 200-bed hotel. Once the stadium and hotel project is completed, it will make a significant contribution to Zanzibar's existing tourism potential. The island's economy will be revitalized and it will contribute to employment with the job potential it will create.
As part of our Zanzibar worker camp structures project, we completed the installation of construction site structures consisting of 9 blocks with a total enclosed area of 2,390 m². The construction site structures, which mainly include office, dormitory, and dining hall buildings, will be used by 800 project employees. Four experts from our supervisory team participated in the construction site structure project, which we completed in a short period of 30 days. Led by our Karmod supervisory teams, the project was set up quickly thanks to the advantages offered by the bolt and nut system.
The construction site project we prepared for this project includes two separate office buildings. Designed as two-story buildings using our new generation container model, each of our office buildings has an area of 304 m². One of the buildings will serve as the management office, while the other will serve as the technical office.
The structures installed include three separate dormitory buildings. Two separate dormitory buildings, each measuring 608 m², were constructed on the construction site for blue-collar workers. Another dormitory building measuring 366 m² was prepared for the project engineers.
Two separate buildings were installed on the project site as dining halls. The single-story dining hall buildings are 94 and 73 m² in size. A group of five shower and toilet container units was also installed for use on the project site. A 12 m² security building measuring 3x4 was also positioned at the construction site entrance to ensure site security.
Zanzibar is located in the Indian Ocean, east of Africa. It is administratively part of Tanzania. In fact, the name Zanzibar refers to the entire group of islands in the region. The real name of the island known as Zanzibar Island is ‘Unguja’. Among the archipelago, Zanzibar, Pemba, and Mafia Islands are inhabited. Zanzibar Island is accessible via a two-hour ferry ride from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, located 24 km away.
