We have taken our place in the ‘Benghazi Towers’ project, being carried out in the city of Benghazi and set to be among Libya’s prestigious projects, with our prefabricated dormitory mobilization building.
We have completed the setup of our mobilization facility for the project, which consists of three high-rise towers—one of which, at 124 meters tall, will be part of Benghazi’s new skyline. The dormitory building, manufactured using our sandwich panel system prefabricated model, will accommodate 290 personnel simultaneously. The prefabricated dormitory building will actively serve during the construction process of the towers.
At Karmod, we have two key priorities in construction site mobilization. The first is structural safety, and the second is ergonomics. Structural safety directly impacts workplace safety and productivity. The health of workers on construction sites comes first. This also directly affects productivity. For this reason, we prioritize structural safety in our mobilization structures. We do not limit ourselves to structural safety in the static sense alone. Indoor and outdoor safety zones, electrical systems, and fire safety are all included within Karmod’s structural safety principles.
Secondly, our priority in ergonomics is to provide users with comfortable living spaces featuring spacious walkways, even in our smallest-scale buildings. In a mobilization that prioritizes safety and ergonomics, there is comfort and happiness—and construction site productivity.
For the ‘Benghazi Towers’ project, we completed the installation of a two-story dormitory building spanning 1,200 square meters using our prefabricated building model. The building utilized a sandwich panel system throughout, from the roof to the walls. Stone wool, which stands out for its fire resistance and climate control performance, was used as insulation material between the panels.
Our work, ranging from tile installations to wet area applications, was carried out on a turnkey basis. With our turnkey approach, we support investors by allowing them to focus on their business without having to deal with mobilization. A suspended ceiling system was installed throughout the building to complement the interior aesthetics. On the first floor, which includes wet areas such as restrooms and showers, an epoxy flooring application was carried out by our expert teams. On the upper floor, the flooring and other applications were completed and are ready for use.
The Benghazi Towers Project, carried out in the Jiliana district of Benghazi, Libya, is a prestigious project that will leave its mark on the city’s identity. The project, consisting of three towers, includes a hotel tower, an office tower, and a residential tower. The tallest tower will be 124 meters, the second 84 meters, and the third 68 meters. The towers are situated in a commanding position overlooking Lake 23 July, one of Benghazi’s geographical landmarks.
The Benghazi Towers are being implemented under a build-operate-transfer model. The construction phase of the project is expected to be completed within 18 months. The construction company responsible for the project will have a 24-month operating period following the project’s completion.
