Full Support for Education: Darıkent Primary and Secondary School

We continue to provide full support for education with our safe and durable prefabricated school buildings that can be quickly assembled. We have added the Darıkent village primary and secondary school project, which we completed in the Mazgirt district of Tunceli province, to the educational buildings we have constructed throughout Turkey. We completed the 8-classroom prefabricated school, including painting, in just 21 days and made it available for education.

The Story of Darıkent School

The old school building in Darıkent village, Mazgirt, which was severely damaged in the February 6 Kahramanmaraş Earthquake, became unusable. After the inspections, it was decided to evacuate and demolish the 46-year-old school building. With the demolition of the school, 30 children aged between 7 and 9 had to travel 30 kilometers to the school in Bulgurcular village to continue their education. The transportation to the school, which was very far away, caused anxiety for the families. This is because sending their children such a long distance during the cold and rainy winter months is a particular concern for them. With these concerns in mind, parents in Darıkent and 10 surrounding villages brought up the issue of building a new school to replace the old one. Upon this, the village head of Darıkent, along with the village heads of 10 other villages, requested that the authorities build a new school to replace the old one that had been demolished. The Tunceli Governor's Office did not remain unresponsive to these calls. The Governor's Office decided to build a new school.

Karmod Expertise in Earthquake-Safe Schools

Businessman Erdal İlaslan also provided financial support for the Darıkent new school building project, the foundation of which was laid in May 2025 by Tunceli Governor Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu. The 8-classroom school, designed with Karmod expertise, was designed in an L-shape. The building, whose foundation was laid in May 2025, opened its doors to new students in September 2025-2026, at the start of the new academic year.

New Prefabricated School Will Provide Education Opportunities to 10 Villages

The new prefabricated school, built with Karmod expertise, has a safe building model. There are a total of 8 classrooms in the school. Four classrooms will serve as elementary school, and four classrooms will serve as middle school. With the new school, children from Darıkent and 10 surrounding villages and 5 neighborhoods have gained access to education.

In addition to the 8 classrooms, the L-shaped school building includes the following sections: principal's office, vice principal's office, teachers' room, multipurpose hall, system room, teacher and student restrooms, boiler room, and other sections of the school.
